Old couples selling homemade chutney set up shop next to young bakers, burly cheese makers, marshmallow extraordinaires (bacon and maple is my favorite flavor... thus far), farmers proudly selling their bountiful produce, and artisans offering everything from gourmet chocolate truffles and almond-stuffed olives to handcrafted sterling silver scarf pins.
My game plan is always the same: skip breakfast and sample my way through the market. Great approach, right? Well, until my taste buds beg for more than a mere nibble of ginger-infused cheddar cheese or a vanilla chai chocolate bar or a fresh raspberry, bursting with flavor.

Always the adventurous eater, I've tried some new foods during these outings, like a Scotch Egg: a hard-boiled egg, wrapped in sausage meat (the chickpea-based veggie option is delicious, too), rolled in breadcrumbs, and deep fried. It's a complete breakfast in a baseball-sized serving! Yummy indeed.
I've been making these trips with some new friends from the Ballroom Dancing Society I joined during Freshers Week. After learning to jive, waltz, or rumba during Tuesday's class, we huddle in a corner of the auditorium to determine our next foodie adventure. No surprise here, but it's a tradition to which I've taken quite nicely :)
