"Love loves to love love."

The Molly Malone statue on Grafton Street, with two Irish youth serenading passing tourists.

This weekend I met two of my favorite women in Dublin for a lovely 21st birthday celebration. We romped around the city, interacting with the locals in coffee shops and pubs and ice cream parlors, finding the spirit of the city in public parks and libraries and whiskey distilleries.

Some books that reminded me of my favorite lady cousin ;)

The Chester Beatty Library, containing astounding collections of manuscripts, rare books, paintings, and religious artifacts, representing a lifetime of one man's travels. The world's second largest Koran collection is here... go figure.

We toured the city, sampled local delicacies (bacon and cabbage, anyone?), and basked in a glow inspired only by old friends.

Birthday breakfast at Butler's Chocolate Cafe, of course!

The gorgeous Saint Steven's Green

Christ Church Cathedral, where we enjoyed a hauntingly beautiful Saturday night evensong

Trinity College, home of the beautiful Long Room library

Crossing the shimmering River Liffey

A little educational justification for our whiskey tasting at Jameson Distillery

... and 48 hours later, I found myself yet again Scotland-bound. This was a swift, much-needed getaway.

Happy birthday to you, beautiful sister Leah.
