Giving {International} Thanks

While all my friends stateside slept through canceled classes and enjoyed homemade Thanksgiving dinners, I attended my usual lectures before heading back to the flat to cook for myself...

... But luckily I live with some fantastic women who agreed to partake in my American tradition, so we prepared a fabulous Thanksgiving feast for ourselves!

After weeks (literally) of planning, we successfully orchestrated our culinary ballet with the flimsy appliances of a dormitory kitchen. I baked a chicken and traditional stuffing, and each of my flatmates created a dish from her home country -- we feasted on Irish potatoes in every form, grilled vegetables, British trifle, American carrot cake, and wine (but of course). It was truly an evening of cultural exchange ;)

Sitting around our rickety school-issued table, we each took a turn saying what we're thankful for this year before digging into our homemade creations. Thank you for a beautiful evening, ladies.
