Thursday, 3-5 pm. Attend orientation session at UN Headquarters for Friday's Malala Day. Meet an Oxford undergrad conducting research in Tibet concerning the importance of pilgrimage to community formation. Chit chat with her friend, a young woman who has opened dozens of girls' schools in Afghanistan.
Thursday, 7-9 pm. Convince my favorite guy to attend a Penn Club happy hour. Sit beneath painting of Amy Gutmann and discuss vintage Sinskey POV. Chortle at the absurdity.
Thursday, 9:30 pm - Friday 2 am. Eat Iberian pork. Wash it down with too many glasses of Cab. Discuss offshore trading with a market professional.
Friday 7 am. Attend the UN Youth Assembly. Watch Malala speak for the first time since her attack in October of last year. Return to WEDO office and write blog post about the experience. (check it out!)
Friday 9 pm - Saturday 2 am. Whisk my favorite Amy into the Meatpacking district for a night of wine bars and rooftop club jacuzzis. Eat crepes with a breathtaking view of the Hudson and the City shimmering in the background.
Saturday, 11 am. Prepare for a full day of girl-talking, museum-hopping, and Central Park picnicking.
You know what, New York? You're not so bad after all.
