'I will be a hummingbird. I will do the best I can.'

This month, the Women's Environment and Development Organization online newsletter highlighted a few of my blog posts that I never discussed here. So, here they are, ladies and gentlemen, my little professional reflections from a summer well spent:

This one is so fascinating for me to re-read now. I wrote it the afternoon of my first day on the job, after I'd attended the June 2013 Summit on the Millennium Development Goals at the UN. I was so nervous that morning -- and, it turns out, rightly so. Not because I made a big flub at lunch or tripped Ban Ki-moon (thank the lord!)... but because the experience of the day and the people I met represent a paradigm shift. I saw my ideals in action, in a real way, for the first time. And that has changed me.

This one is a reflection of a truly incredible event I attended with my best gal, Elaine: a speaker series hosted by Hollaback, an international anti-street harassment non-profit. I met the founder, Emily May, during Feminist Camp (oh yea!) in 2011, and it was great to see her passion for the cause in person yet again. She does amazing work, and I encourage you to check out the Hollaback website here

And, in the spirit of all this feministing...

Happy 40th Anniversary, Penn Women's Center!
